My Role

Developed the Japan-localised version of the TunisiaTrip platform, adapting the shared Next.js and NestJS codebase for full Japanese language support. Implemented Japanese typography rendering, culturally appropriate imagery selection tools, and built the tour circuit customisation engine tailored to Japanese travel planning habits.

Challenges & Solutions

The key challenge was implementing Japanese text rendering with proper character formatting, including mixed kanji, hiragana, and katakana display across responsive layouts, while maintaining compatibility with the shared PostgreSQL content database. This was solved by implementing Japanese-specific CSS typography rules, building a character-aware content editor, and creating locale-specific rendering components that activate based on the target market.
