My Role

Built the React frontend for the electric vehicle warranty simulator, implementing the vehicle specification input form, the dynamic coverage calculation UI, and the subscription checkout flow. Developed the Symfony REST API backend handling the complex warranty pricing algorithms that factor in battery health, motor performance, and electronic system complexity.

Challenges & Solutions

The primary challenge was developing warranty pricing algorithms that accurately account for the unique failure modes and repair costs of electrified vehicle components—such as battery degradation, motor inverter failures, and electronic control unit malfunctions—which differ significantly from traditional combustion engine warranties. This required extensive research into EV-specific breakdown patterns and building a multi-parameter pricing model in Symfony that weighs battery age, charging cycle count, and powertrain configuration.
